Museum of Contemporary Art & Wolfgang Puck

Look at me! Look at me! … Remember me?!

It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of working with Wolfgang Puck. The last time we did it was a non for profit event at the MCA (yes, we do those too under our parent company named Exquisite Events ). Their food is sublime.  Last week, I got invited to a tasting by the wonderful team at the MCA and Wolfgang Puck for a reminder of what they can really do.

Let’s face it. We all have this cross to bear and mine is I get to try a lot of food. Yeah, it’s tough (especially when you are in the treadmill burning all those calories). But last week was well worth it as Wolfgang Puck and the MCA blew me away. Not only from the decor, the entertainment, but the amazing food and the company I kept at my side. I got to meet the lovely Chaz Olajide from the Marketing Department at the MCA. She made for great company and she taught me a thing or two about modern art.

Sublime food (with wine pairings!), good company, soothing music and beautiful decor. It was all in an effort to refresh my mind as to all the amazing things Wolfgang Puck can do and all the possibilities at the MCA. I’ll definitely book an event (social, corporate or wedding) there again and again!

As a takeaway we were given two bottles of wine by Wolfgang Puck. I got to share them with my husband at a nice dinner at home and they were delightful. Thank you to Wolfgang Puck and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Quick Fire Post ~ Vera Wang and David’s Bridal

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Yesterday was the big official launch of BHLDN, Anthropologie’s Online Wedding Store. Of course, the reigning queen of bridal gowns is not to be outdone. Vera Wang and David’s Bridal have partnered to launch  White by Vera Wang. It made it’s big debut last week on February 11th. I have to take a trip to our local David’s Bridal to see the gowns with my own eyes and make sure that the fabrics or designs are not a big difference from Vera Wang usual designs.  However, from the pictures I’ve seen online (look at the picture below!) it seems like brides can finally have their Vera Wang gown and wear it too!  The best part of all is that not one piece of this collection costs more than $1,400! Stores are currently carrying the gowns in sizes between 0 to 14.   Between BHLDN launching their new online store and Vera Wang partnering with David’s Bridal to launch this new collection… brides you have a lot of great options to choose from!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!!!  Here is a little inspiration board with lots of red… my favorite color and a little hot pink to cheer us all up.  I hope you all have a great day and don’t forget to tell that special someone how much you love them.

Quick Fire Post ~ Anthropologie Bridal Store

Monday, February 7th, 2011

BHLDN, Anthropologie’s Bridal Online Store launches on February 14th, 2011. If you are a big fan of Anthropologie and love all things eclectic make sure to stay tuned. Follow them on Twitter here, or visit their website a week from today. They will carry not only wedding dresses, but also bridesmaids dresses along with accessories, jewelry, shoes and decor.

If you want to take a peak at the dresses see below…

Or if you want to read up more from Green Wedding Shoes (a great blogger!) who got a preview of the collection click here and  here.

By the way, BHLDN is not an acronym. It stands for Beholden. Apparently they decided to do away with a few vowels.

Thinking of White Cattaleyas Orchid Bridal Bouquets

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

As we are literally up to our eyeballs in snow in Chicago ( thanks to the Blizzard of 2011), all I can think of are all those summer and spring weddings that are coming up. One of my all time favorite flowers are orchids. They are hearty flowers and can take the warm summer months. Every so often I get to put a white cattaleya orchid bouquet for one of my brides. A cattaleya orchid’s petals are billowy and soft.  It’s makes for the perfect bridal bouquet… beautiful, lasting and lightweight.
