LUSH Cosmetics in Millennium Park Chicago

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

LUSH Cosmetics celebrated their anniversary in Chicago in grand with a pop up shop out in Millennium Park…. and we were part of it. If you are a LUSH Cosmetics customer you know that they use natural ingredients. The team from LUSH was making creams and products onsite while answering questions over the internet thru a live feed.

We created a green living wall of 13 different plants and ferns including springeri fern, Kalanhoe fern, Boston Fern, English ivy to maidenhair fern. In true style as with all of our floral walls or green walls we don’t use floral foam! It takes a little bit more work but so worth it.  After the event, the kind folks at LUSH Cosmetics donated all the plants!

Thursday Therapy at Venue Six10

Monday, May 7th, 2012

Two weeks ago we got to be part of the monthly Thursday Therapy networking event in Chicago. This time it was taking place at Venue Six10 located t the Spertus Institute on Michigan Avenue. The venue is spectacular and boasts views of Grant Park, the lakefront, along with Michigan Avenue. Venue Six10 also has a small outdoor space! Perfect for any guests that would like to get some fresh air between dancing the night away.

Their space is a white canvas… perfect to do anything with it. Since it was April with lots of white space we decided to do a lot of bold colors. Hot pinks, hot oranges, corals and a touch of silver here and there.

I had a great time catching up with old friends from Wolfgang Puck. They provided quite the spread of delicious food for this event. Thank you to Kelly Marie from Fleur and Joan from Five Grain Events for letting us be part of this event and thank you to Bethany from Maypole Studios. Your pictures are amazing!  Thank you for sharing these amazing images with us.

Gene & Georgetti’s Movie Premiere

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Chicago’s Gene & Georgetti Restaurant hosted a grand event last month to premiere their movie…celebrating 70 years of great food and welcoming their customers with open arms.

The event at the Park West Theatre was nothing but spectacular!  Complete with a red carpet, step-and-repeat… and that was just the beginning!

Think confetti cannons by Automated Lighting Design, a choreographed performance from Zzazz Productions; Sway Chicago, a live band performed a few hits from different decades, Brent Rolland from Fig Media kept the dance floor packed, food galore from Phil Stefani Catering, a candy table from Sugar Chic Designs that would make you swoon with delight (in addition to make you forget about that new diet), a birthday cake from Tipsycake and of course, one heck of a movie created by Loudbyte Cinematography. The best way to describe is…It was the hottest ticket in town.

Candy Table Display by Sugar Chic Designs

Michelle Durpetti Events who produced the soiree tapped us to provide florals for the occasion. We created two distinct tablescapes for the cabaret tables and as with all of our clients we selected flowers that reflects them.

Michelle, Emily and Rachel from Michelle Durpetti Events

Our first tablescape included a mound of white anemones with black centers. They are a popular flower these days but many people don’t realize how hard they are to find and how harder it is to keep them from suffering blemishes during transport. We felt these flowers were a great representation of the restaurant. Seventy years in business (in any business) is a hard feat, but to do it well and consistently is a monumental accomplishment.

Our second tablescape included a single cattaleya orchid. If you’ve never seen them, all I can say is that cattaleya orchids are gorgeous with their fluttery petals, but most of all they are grand. They make you happy from looking at them and in their own way it is quite the unique flower. These flowers represent the Durpetti family. If you’ve been lucky enough to meet them they always have a smile, especially Michelle’s mom, Marion. They always welcome you with open arms and a bright smile, no matter who you are.

We created other arrangements for the bars and the stage with old Hollywood in mind, were simple but timeless and beautiful reigned. It was quite the honor to be one of the vendors at this event, especially amongst such a talented team of professionals.

Congratulations to Gene & Georgetti’s, and cheers to 70 more!

Thank you to Carasco Photography for sharing these pictures. You always make me look like an angel without the wings and you capture my designs just as I see them.

60′s Themed Birthday Party!!!

Monday, October 31st, 2011

Elynor had a wonderful birthday last week. It was completely 60′s themed! She was after all celebrating 60 years of looking good and living life to the fullest. We decided to ask Colin from Pulp and Ink for a little inspiration as he created the invitations and napkins for the event. He created these beautiful, elegant and fun invitations for Elynor’s birthday.

The event was taking place at Sepia’s private dinning space. It’s an elegant location therefore, we decided to go with rhinestone peace signs, tie dyed vases and a bounty of colorful gerber daises.

We decided to do glittered peace signs along with gerber daises for the entrance arrangement.

You can’t have a 60′s themed party without a lava lamp! We had quite a few of them all over the place.

Thank you Colin for letting us partner with you on this event and Happy Birthday Elynor!
